So yesterday afternoon some family friends came over with their 4 year old daughter, she insisted in me going outside and playing with her and my dogs. After a few minutes of her playing fetch with them and whispering in their ears she turned and asked me: “Your dogs don’t talk, do they?” I looked at her, smiled, and replied: “no, hunny, they don’t” to which she said: “don’t worry my dog doesn’t talk either”. Before I could find a way to politely tell her that dogs can’t technically speak she grabbed my hand to grasp my attention and said “you know the reason that they can’t speak is because they haven’t eaten their alphabet soup”
